Doc’s interest in philately began in paradise (outside of Smyrna) while excavating to build a new home. His parents unearthed ancient coins. Doc held these collections dear, not for their monetary value, but for the wonder they invoked, the study they fostered and the knowledge they imparted. Doc’s philosophy of learning sprang from a fusion of elitism and curiosity. Learning he believed, begins with the individual.
